The next stop on our route is Žižmų Stone, which is also called the Source Stone or the “Cursed Svodba”. It is a state-protected natural heritage object in the territory of Dieveniškės Geomorphological Reserve.

Did you know? Žižmai stone is the largest stone in the territory of Dieveniškės Historical Regional Park. It’s about 4 m in length, about 3 m in width and about 1.5 m in height.

A popular story about a wedding regiment turned into stone is popular in the Dieveniškės area. Legends about petrified people are very old. Some say the wedding regiment turned into a stone because the mother cursed her daughter, and the whole carriage turned into a big stone. It is believed that the figures of seated people can still be seen on the stone.
